Base Maintenance
Full-spectrum heavy maintenance from A- to D-checks, with 77 bays across Hong Kong and Mainland China and more than 20,000 checks delivered.
HAECO Base Maintenance delivers scheduled and unscheduled heavy maintenance at facilities in Hong Kong, Xiamen, Jinan, and Chengdu. The service covers the complete check spectrum — A-checks through D-checks, intermediate layover (IL) visits, and heavy maintenance visits (HMV) — offered individually or as customised nose-to-tail programmes that integrate engine overhaul, component services, landing gear, structure, composites, and cabin reconfiguration into a single coordinated input.
With 77 maintenance bays, roughly 12,000 personnel across base facilities, and a cumulative track record exceeding 20,000 completed checks, HAECO occupies a tier-one position in Asia-Pacific heavy maintenance. The Xiamen facility is notably building the world's largest single-span aircraft maintenance hangar at Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport, extending capacity for the next decade of wide-body heavy check demand.
For airline procurement and fleet planning teams, the commercially significant capability is scope compression: rather than splitting base, engine, component, and structural work across multiple vendors and geographies, HAECO can absorb the full scope of a heavy visit under one contract and one quality system. Regulatory approvals cover CAAC, HKCAD, EASA, FAA, and multiple other authorities, meaning aircraft on diverse international registrations can be released directly without requiring additional oversight.
HAECO holds ODA/DOA design organisation approvals at Xiamen (CAAC DMDOR and HKCAD DOA), giving in-house engineering and design certification capability — relevant for cabin modifications, STC embodiment, and aircraft freighter conversion programmes. The A321-200PCF passenger-to-freighter conversion is among the active programmes at this facility.
For GCC carriers or lessors with aircraft cycling through Asia, HAECO's combination of slot availability, back-shop integration, and multi-authority approvals offers a competitive alternative to European MRO providers for C- and D-check events.
