YORK YK-HT Two-Stage Centrifugal Chiller
Two-stage economized centrifugal chiller delivering simultaneous 44°F chilled water and 140°F hot water from a single driveline, with dry-cooler compatibility that eliminates cooling-tower water consumption.
The YORK YK-HT is a two-stage, economized centrifugal chiller with a flash-tank inter-stage economizer and a high-lift compressor that extends the temperature range far beyond a conventional single-stage machine. It produces leaving chilled water at 44°F (6.7°C) while simultaneously outputting condenser water at up to 165°F (74°C) and usable process hot water at 140°F (60°C) — making it a unified heating and cooling platform for facilities that would otherwise operate separate boiler and chiller plant.
The single-driveline architecture halves failure points compared to two-compressor alternatives and results in a footprint roughly 30% smaller than competing approaches. A high-lift capability of up to 110°F (43°C) between condenser and evaporator enables the use of dry coolers — air-cooled heat rejection equipment — instead of evaporative cooling towers, eliminating water consumption and legionella management obligations entirely. This is directly relevant to water-scarce GCC sites, data-centre campuses with strict water budgets, and pharmaceutical or healthcare facilities with zero-discharge requirements.
The unit accepts low-GWP refrigerants R-1234ze and R-515B. Optional variable-speed drives and battery energy storage system (BESS) integration are available. Planned for commercial availability from autumn 2026, the YK-HT is aimed at large industrial campuses, data centres processing AI workloads, and healthcare facilities with heat recovery obligations.
