The YORK YLAA is a self-contained air-cooled scroll chiller covering 40 to 230 TR (140–800 kW) at 60 Hz, with a corresponding 57–142 TR range at 50 Hz. It uses suction-gas cooled hermetic scroll compressors arranged in two fully independent refrigerant circuits — a design that maintains partial cooling capacity even if one circuit requires maintenance, reducing the risk of complete cooling loss in a single failure event.
Microchannel condenser coils replace conventional round-tube-plate-fin coils, reducing refrigerant charge by up to 50% and improving condensing-side heat transfer density. Brazed-plate evaporators give a compact, high-effectiveness heat exchanger on the chilled-water side. The combination produces a unit 20–35% lighter than competing products in its class, which simplifies structural loading calculations on rooftop or plant-deck installations common in airport terminal expansions.
Refrigerant is R-410A (zero ozone depletion potential). Variable-speed drive fans are standard, maintaining class-leading efficiency across the ambient temperature range. The unit is AHRI 550/590 and 551/591 certified; UL 1995 and ASHRAE 15 compliance supports installation in North American and GCC markets.
