Digital bistatic K-band microwave sensor - stackable 5-200 m volumetric detection zones for gates and perimeter gap-fill
UltraWave is Senstar's fully digital bistatic microwave intrusion detection sensor. A transmitter projects an invisible pattern of K-band microwave energy (24 GHz, 10 field-selectable channels) toward a paired receiver mounted up to 200 m away, forming a cylindrical volumetric detection zone; DSP algorithms distinguish the signatures of intruders walking (5-200 m), crawling (5-150 m) or performing a commando roll (5-100 m) from environmental effects, with a detection rate greater than 99% when properly installed. Automatic Gain Control compensates for path-loss changes from Tx-Rx separation, surroundings and weather, and a PLL-controlled VCO keeps the operating frequency ultra-stable over temperature and equipment aging. Detection is reliable night or day regardless of weather, and the IP65-rated, conformally coated units operate from -40 to +70 deg C - suited to exposed GCC airfield and border environments. Units stack on a common mounting post to increase detection-zone height, and the 10 channels let multiple pairs operate in close proximity without interference, enabling gap-free perimeters, gate and sally-port protection, or gap-fill alongside fence and buried sensors. Anti-spoofing is built in: each receiver recognises only its paired transmitter and reports signal loss or jamming immediately, while Tx-Rx communication rides on the microwave signal itself, eliminating data wiring to the transmitter. Power draw is 1.5 W (Tx) and 2.6 W (Rx with comms card) from 12-48 VDC or PoE, with four Form C relays for local operation and optional EIA-422, fiber or Ethernet cards for networking. UltraWave shares Silver Network wiring with OmniTrax, FlexZone and XField sensors (Crossfire networks supported for MPS-4100 backward compatibility), with dual-end polling for redundant data paths and Network Manager integration to StarNet 2 or third-party security management systems. The Windows-based UCM calculates optimum mounting height from separation and stacking configuration and supports remote diagnostics.
