High-efficiency 81–519 TR air-cooled screw chiller with heavy-duty copper-tube condenser, available in both 50 Hz and 60 Hz configurations.
The APCY-H is the widest-capacity model in SKM's APCY air-cooled screw range, spanning 81 to 519 TR (285–1,825 kW) and covering both 50 Hz and 60 Hz power supplies — the broadest market reach in the lineup. Its condenser coil is built from seamless Hi-X copper tubes mechanically bonded to aluminium fins, a configuration that offers long-term robustness in harsh outdoor environments and higher resistance to mechanical damage than MCHE alternatives during maintenance.
Performance data from the Quick Selection Guide (50 Hz, 95 °F ambient) shows EER values consistently in the 10.9–11.6 Btu/W·h band across the mid-capacity models, with rated capacity retention down to 118.4 °F (48 °C) ambient — a direct measure of hot-climate capability. The semi-hermetic screw compressor with stepless modulation keeps part-load operation efficient across the Gulf's long transition seasons. The unit ships factory-assembled, pre-charged with R-134a, and is rated AHRI 550/590 and 551/591 certified.
The APCY-H targets large central plants and campus-scale chilled-water systems where the combination of high capacity, dual-frequency availability, and copper-tube condenser durability matters more than absolute weight minimisation. Airports, hospitals, universities, large-scale mixed-use developments, and Gulf-region industrial campuses operating 60 Hz networks are typical end users. The 60 Hz variant also makes this series exportable across the Americas and parts of Asia without specification re-engineering.
