The TUG Endurance is Textron GSE's purpose-built lithium-electric baggage tractor, developed around a General Motors electric powertrain with PCS lithium battery technology rather than converted from a legacy internal-combustion chassis. The GM automotive inverter is liquid-cooled, the transmission is direct drive, and the motor delivers 110 kW (147.5 hp) with 359 Nm of torque at 2,700 rpm, governed to 24.1 km/h (15 mph).

The battery is a 300 V (max) lithium pack at 38 kWh standard or 48 kWh optional, with opportunity charging so tractors top up between waves rather than cycling off-line. Regenerative braking recovers energy on every stop of the stop-start baggage cycle, and an electronically actuated axle-mounted disc parking brake plus four-wheel disc brakes with electronic power assist handle ramp duty. Remote diagnostics are built in for fleet monitoring and faster issue resolution.

Four models cover the drawbar range: BTE-40 at 4,000 lb (1,814 kg), BTE-45 at 4,500 lb (2,041 kg), BTE-50 at 5,000 lb (2,268 kg) and BTE-60 at 6,000 lb (2,722 kg), offered in cab-forward (BTE-45) and cab-aft layouts. GVW runs 7,500-9,300 lb with cab. The footprint matches conventional TUG tractors - 78 in wide on a 60 in wheelbase with a 120 in (3,048 mm) outside turning radius and 6 in of ground clearance - so it slots into existing baggage-hall lanes and GSE parking without re-marking. Four-wheel leaf-spring suspension, a standard e-hitch, LED lighting and a multi-function display with state-of-charge readout are standard; HVAC, LCD display, inching controls and additional hitches are optional.

Baggage tractors are the natural first electrification step for GCC ground handlers: duty cycles are predictable, routes are short, and charging can be centralised at the baggage hall. The TUG Endurance is CE certified and supported through Textron GSE's global service network.
