The Armagard Sunlight Readable Digital Signage Enclosure (PDS-HB series) addresses the fundamental challenge of outdoor digital signage in high-irradiance environments: standard commercial LCD panels, typically rated at 400–700 NITS, become unreadable under direct sunlight. The PDS-47-TO-P-US-HB and related high-brightness models pair Armagard's weather-sealed steel enclosures with high-brightness screens delivering 2,000 NITS — sufficient contrast for direct midday sun exposure. An anti-glare technology applied to the polycarbonate window suppresses specular reflections that cause black-spot artefacts on standard panels.

The 47" totem variant operates to 104°F (40°C) ambient without air conditioning, a threshold that covers most Gulf coastal conditions. The 72" PDS-72-TO-P-HB model achieves 2,000–5,000 NITS with an operating ceiling of 122°F (50°C). For GCC airport operators this performance envelope is directly relevant: terminal forecourts, outdoor boarding bridges, surface car parks, and uncovered transit routes all expose signage to ambient conditions that render standard-brightness enclosures ineffective for the majority of the operational day. The enclosures retain full NEMA 4 / IP54–56 sealing against rain, dust, and sand ingress while providing the necessary thermal management to protect the high-brightness panel from heat soak.
